Core Values

Core Values

Here at MillCity, we have seven core values that define who we are and what we do as a church. Those core values are the Bible, Prayer, Worship, Serving, Family, Sharing the Gospel, and Fun. The first three have to do with our upward relationship with God, the last three have to do with our “outward” relationships with others, and the Bible is at the center of it all.

The Bible

The Bible is our first core value. Based on II Timothy 3:16-17

“All scripture is God-breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Prayer

Prayer is our second core value. Based on Colossians 4:2-3

“Devote yourself to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ.”

Worship

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

Sharing the Gospel

Sharing the Gospel is our fourth core value. In February 2020, we added a new core value, fun. By adding a seventh core value, we placed “Sharing the Gospel” in the center of our core values, since everything we do revolves around sharing the gospel and making God famous, based on Matthew 28:19

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

Serving

Serving is our fourth core value. Based on Ephesians 2:10

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Family

Family is our fifth core value. Based on Ephesians 2:19-20

“Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.”

Fun

In February 2020, we added a new core value: Fun. By adding a seventh core value, we placed “Sharing the Gospel” in the center of our core values, since everything we do revolves around sharing the gospel and making God famous.
